Dido thinks 'Skyfall' songstress Adele is "amazing".

The 'Stan' singer has praised the crop of British stars currently making waves in America.

Dido, who recently took a break from the industry to have son Stanley, is impressed with the chart-topping female singers flying the flag for the UK.

In an interview with Look magazine, the star gushed: "I love it! [new female singers on the scene]. Emeli Sande, Adele...There are so many amazing singers coming out of this country and I feel proud to be any part of that."

Dido is gearing up for the release of new single 'No Freedom' and the star says her young son influenced a lot of her new music.

She explained: "I recorded a lot of the album while pregnant and I loved having a little mate kicking when I was singing. So far I've not written about him. It almost feels too big to write about. I did sing a track called Girl Who Got Away when I was pregnant and when Stanley was born that song completely calmed him down. He's my biggest critic!"
