Adele says MBE is "very posh indeed"

Adele says receiving an MBE was a "proud" and "posh" moment.

The singer collected Most Excellent Order of the British Empire title from Prince Charles on Thursday (December 19) for services to music.

She was pictured having a laugh with the royal as she received the MBE.

Speaking in a statement released after the event, Adele said: "It was an honour to be recognised and a very proud moment to be awarded alongside such wonderful and inspirational people. Very posh indeed."

The event took place at London's Buckingham Palace as a number of Brits received titles as part of Queen's Birthday Honours.

It is a proud ending to a somewhat quiet year for Adele, who gave birth to her first child in 2012.

She bagged a Golden Globe and an Oscar in early 2013 for her Skyfall theme song.
