Emma Willis nervous around Kylie on The Voice

TV presenter Emma Willis takes over Holly Willoughby's role as the new host on The Voice tonight (January 11).

With Kylie Minogue replacing Jessie J as a judge, Willis's biggest task will be to try and keep cool around her   longstanding idol. She told the Daily Mirror, that when she first met the singer, she said:

“I told her that I loved her and that I had a blonde perm when I was a teenager because of Kylie and the first album I ever bought was hers. When I told her about the perm (see photo below), she said, ‘I’m so sorry’. But I loved it.

“She’s the nicest woman in the world – everything you want her to be, she’s just really warm and welcoming. You don’t feel that you’re meeting one of your idols from when you were a kid.”

Willis, who is married to McBusted star, Matt Willis, continued:

“I’ve had a lot of pressure to make her my best friend from everyone I know. Too much pressure. Now I can barely string a sentence together around her, let alone say, ‘Why don’t you come over for dinner?’”

The 37-year-old, who also presents Celebrity Big Brother, said that she is nervous about working on The Voice, she revealed:

"I never thought that my first job for the BBC would be on one of its flagship primetime shows. My agent called and told me I’d been offered it outright, which had never happened to me before.”

Yesterday (January 11) Kylie announced her new single, 'Into The Blue' will be released on March 16.

Emma Willis presents The Voice alongside Marvin Humes, the former JLS star, this evening (January 11) on BBC1 at 7pm.
