Labrinth sheds more light on Ed Sheeran track

Labrinth has previously told Capital Radio that there was a track that both he and Ed Sheeran had worked on for Labrinth's new album but both of them were not sure what to do with it.

In today's Independent (October 4) he has expanded on this, he said:

"Ed and I got in the studio for two days, but it didn’t work out. I don’t think it’s worth putting out something that I don’t 100-per-cent believe in.

The label (Syco) are a little bit aggrieved. But they know that this album has to be a Labrinth album first; that people have to hear me as an artist. The collaborations are gonna come.

"After this album I want to work with a lot of people. But I stand by the idea that it’s a cop-out when people put ‘features’ on their album ’cause it makes it sound exciting.

“Of course Ed’s got 10 million Twitter followers; lucratively and commercially anyone would say I’m stupid for not using the track. Maybe Ed would say I was insane!” he smiles. “But if I’m saying 'Take Me to the Truth', then don’t lie.”

This would be Labrinth's second album, his follow-up to the successful, 'Electronic Earth'.  He tells the Independent that he must submit the finished album to the label within the next few weeks but has still to decide on the title. It might be named after a couple of the tracks. Either 'Let It Be', or 'Take Me to the Truth. Although he may call it something completely different, 'Timothy':

" ... because this is like me when I was a 13-year-old, in my bedroom, but I just had a flipping school computer, a ghetto iMac!”

Lead single, 'Let It Be' is out now on Syco/Sony.
