Katy Perry has clocked up a fifth week at the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 with "California Gurls".

The singer has held off stiff competition from Eminem's 'Love The Way You Lie' featuring Rihanna, which spends a second week at number two.

Last month Perry premiered the music video for the track, in which she wears a corset candy dress and bedazzled Diesel mini shorts.

"California Gurls" is the first single off Perry's new album 'Teenage Dream', which is set to be released next month on August 24.
