Victoria Beckham was involved in a plane scare this weekend when the British Airways flight she was on from London to Los Angeles, was forced to make an emergency landing due to a fault with its fuel system.

Pilots issued an SOS call at 40,000 ft after alarms went off in the cockpit. The plane turned round over sea and flew back to Heathrow, where emergency services were scrambled to ensure a safe landing.

The shaken passengers are believed to have been escorted from the aircraft and put up for the night in nearby hotels.

Beckham, who was on her way to meet husband David and their three sons, has since completed the journey on a second plane.
