Florence And The Machine perform in large pool of water on Ellen

Florence And The Machine performed 'Ship To Wreck' on US TV chat show, Ellen Degeneres Show, whilst standing in a large puddle of water.

The track is taken from her Mercury Prize nominated album, 'How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful'.

Florence + The Machine are favourites alongside Jamie xx according to bookmakers with 4/1 odds.

Florence Welch spashed around barefoot throughout the performance, and even kneeled down in it getting totally drenched. The two guitarists, also in the water, wore shoes.

DeGeneres inteviewed Welch on the show. When asked about the song, Welch said that, in-between albums, she was left to her own devices and became self-destructive:

"There was a big party at my house one night. I got really drunk, and we moved to the tiki bar that's 'round the corner. I hadn't performed in ages, and there's a house band there playing, and my friends are tossing me shots, so I went up onstage. Two days later, I get a phone call from my manager. Someone had filmed me singing and screaming and taking shots."

'Ship To Wreck' was written a couple of weeks later after the party, as she was wondering why she became self-destructive when she had accomplished so much.
