Janet Jackson is forced to postpone tour dates due to doctor's orders

Janet Jackson has been forced to put her highly anticipated 'Unbreakable' comeback tour on hold, due to needing immediate vocal rest.

The American singer-songwriter, actress and sister of the late Michael Jackson, tweeted the news to her followers last night (October 23).

The 'Unbreakable' singer was told by her doctor to get some rest and as a result has rescheduled her Salt Lake City and Denver performances set for October 24 and 25.

Jackson tweeted: "Hey you guys, I must rest my vocal chords. Doctor's orders... Will be rescheduling Salt Lake and Denver. Keep your tickets! Back to Burn Up Kansas City. Gon B Alright. #Unbreakable."

This is the 49-year-old icon's long-awaited first tour since 2011.

Jackson's latest album, 'Unbreakable', recently topped the Billboard 200 chart, proving her unbelievable longevity, by making her the third act to earn No. 1 albums in each of the last four decades.

The global superstar also holds the record for the most consecutive top 10 hits on Billboard Hot 100 by a female artist, with 18.
