Alexandra Burke on her risky outfits

Alexandra Burke has admitted that some of her relatives did not approve of an outfit she wore for a recent TV performance.

The singer recently performed her new single, 'Start Without You', on Alan Carr's TV show, 'Chatty Man', dressed in a black leotard. She also wore the outfit for the premiere of the song's video yesterday (August 19).

"The video has a brave look. It's my choice. I wanted to come out of my box. I wore lace on Alan Carr's chat show the other day," she explained. "I get the body out. My auntie thought it was a bit much and my dad told me I can't wear it out on the town."

Burke revealed that she was inspired to record the RedOne produced track by her new motor.

"It's kind of reggae meets pop. It was inspired by my Jamaican background and my new convertible," she said. "I really wanted to have a tune I could take down my roof to, drive along and be proud of. I didn't really want to do a ballad. I love the summer and this is the perfect track to dance to," she said.
