Multi-platinum, Oscar and Grammy-winning star Eminem, has revealed plans to host a rap battle in his hometown of Detroit. 

The rapper is set to present and judge the 'Red Bull EmSee: The Road to 8 Mile National Finals' competition, in order to select the genre's next star.

The eight finalists were chosen from various regional competitions around the nation.

The event will be held on August 26 at Detroit's St Andrew's Hall. 

Eminem played three major festivals in the UK this summer. Scotland’s T In The Park, Switzerland’s Openair Frauenfeld and Ireland’s Oxegen.
