Cheryl Cole has confirmed that her new single from her latest album will be 'The Flood'.

X magazine has reported that the single is an enormo-ballad, with a massive, strong-laden, Christmassy tear-jerker about 'wreckage', 'drowning' and 'natural disaster love."

The magazine also shows several shots from the music video of 'Promise This', which reveal the X Factor judge and singer in a "gothic ballet" setting and wearing a red ball gown.

Yesterday DJ Chris Moyles premiered the Girls Aloud band member's latest single, 'Promise This', on Radio 1.

Cheryl Cole's new album is set to be released on November 1.
