Sara Bareilles' Kaleidoscope Heart Captures #1 Album Spot

Sara Bareilles' Kaleidoscope Heart Captures #1 Album Spot On Billboard's Top 200

NEW YORK/Sept. 15 -- Kaleidoscope Heart, the new release from Grammy-nominated Epic recording artistSara Bareilles rocketed onto Billboard's Top 200 this week at No. 1, making it the highest–charting album debut of the singer-songwriter's career.

The album's arrival at the top of the charts is amplified by the fact that since its release on September 7th, the album has held the #1 album spot on iTunes Top 100 album chart with explosive sales, while the video for the first single, "King Of Anything" soared to #1 on VH1's Top 20 Countdown.

About the album's chart debut, Sara says, "Two amazing things have happened today: First, I have the number one record. Second, my long standing rivalry with Eminem is finally put to rest. I don't know what to  say... I'm over the moon about this. I had no idea that this was even possible and so here I am once again inspired and amazed by the impact of the most generous fans in the world. All I can say is thank you. Thank You."

Critics have praised Sara's sophomore efforts on Kaleidoscope Heart  across the board. The Wall Street Journal raved,"Kaleidoscope Heart plants Sara in Billy Joel territory." The New York Daily News wrote, "Bareilles holds the keys to a pop world gone gaga."  The New York Times praised Sara quoting, "Deliberately or not, Ms. Bareilles has figured out a singer-songwriter's response to the ascendance of "Glee." Now she's her own glee club," while People Magazine applauds the album, saying, "In 2007 the singer-songwriter rocketed from obscurity with her album Little Voice and the Grammy-nominated pop-rock gem "Love Song". How does she follow up on that? Impeccably."

Kaleidoscope Heart– which Sara wrote and the renowned Neal Avron produced - is the follow up to her massive Grammy nominated debut, Little Voice which has sold over 1 million copies worldwide and garnered the singer/songwriter two Grammy nominations for the triple platinum hit single, "Love Song." The immensely addictive and charismatic pop driven first single, "King Of Anything" is currently at three radio formats; Top 5 at Hot AC Radio, Top 10 at Triple A Radio and launching at pop. National television appearances have already included performances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Today Show (twice), Live! With Regis and Kelly, with upcoming appearances scheduled for The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and The Rachael Ray Show.

Sara is currently gearing up to head back out on the road as she kicks off her Fall Headlining Tour on September 23rd in Pocatello, ID Idaho State University.
