Gabriella Cilmi a rebel at school

Gabriella Cilmi has admitted that although she enjoys a successful pop career now, she was rebellious at school, after a teacher told her she wasn't good at making music.

"I knew I wanted to be a musician from the age of six so I started having piano lessons. Then my teacher told me I had 'no musicality' and that I should go and burn my music book. It completely crushed me - I was only eight," she explained.

Cilmi contiuned, "So when I went to school I rebelled a bit. But deep down, I knew I wanted to sing. So I joined a band and started to believe in myself again."
