Perry excited about 'SNL'

In the wake of her 'Sesame Street' cameo being sliced from airing this New Year's Eve due to backlash from thousands of outraged parents, Katy Perry is now gearing up for her appearance on tonight's 'Saturday Night Live'.

The "Teenage Dream" singer has revealed that she is excited about debuting on the 36th season premiere of the NBC show.

She told Access Hollywood, "This summer's been so fantastic for me, so I wanted to come back with kind of, like, a bit of, like, the end of the summer, you know, uh, celebration."

"I'm hoping they will let me do a skit. I brought my whipped cream boobs, so if they do a sketch involving like a barista, you know, coffee making, I could be helping people out and stuff like that," she joked.

Perry is set to perform two of her hits - "California Gurls" and "Teenage Dream" - and special guest host Amy Poehler will join her during tonight's episode. Plus, the show's writers are already putting the finishing touches to a skit that is set to poke fun at the singer's recent "Elmo situation!"
