Plan B's directorial debut

Plan B has become a film director and screenplay writer to raise awareness about deprived inner-city childhoods.

The UK rapper - aka Benjamin Paul Ballance Drew - returned to Forest Gate to film 'III Manors', where he grew up and has brought his own experiences into the movie. However, filming there wasn't easy.

Plan B said, "We were filming outside a station and brought attention to ourselves. One of our actors accidentally bumped into one of these kids and they just lost it. I was so close to kicking off but I knew I couldn't. I knew it could end up messy. I've had my head kicked in before - a lot of times - so I was ready for it. I tried talking to one of the blokes, reasoning with him, but he didn't want to hear it."

He explained that the kids depicted in ‘Ill Manors’ are “blinkered and that's why they act that way”.

Plan B’s debut album, ‘The Defamation Of Strickland Banks”, went to number one in The Official UK Albums Chart.
