Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters accused of anti-semitism

Guitarist of Pink Floyd, Roger Waters, has come under some heavy criticism over imagery used in his new live show, ‘The Wall’.

The singer’s latest performances include a projected backdrop depicting aeroplanes dropping bombs in the forms of dollar signs and Stars of David.

Leader of the Anti-Defamation League, Abe Foxman, claims that this imagery goes along with a stereotypical view of Jews as having a “supposed obsession with making money".

"Waters has every right to express his political views about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through his music and stagecraft,” Foxman said. “However, the images he has chosen, when put together in the same sequence, cross a line into anti-Semitism.”

Waters’ partner, Laurie Durning has hit back at the claims stating: “It absolutely does not call up any ‘anti-Semitic stereotypes’.“

This show is unapologetically anti-war," she told the New York Post, "and we would really like to put a quick end to any possible rumours of it being in any way negative towards any group of people.”
