Rapper Nicki Minaj has won three categories at this year's BET Hip-Hop Awards.

The rapper picked up trophies for 'Rookie of the Year' and 'People's Champ', as well as the 'Made You Look' award in recognition of her controversial fashion sense.

"I'm paving the way for girls," Minaj said in her acceptance speech. "I wanna thank all the girls of hip-hop."

Jay-Z also took home a handful of trophies for 'Perfect Combo', 'CD of the Year' and 'Best Live Performer'.

This year's Hip-Hop Awards will air on October 12 at 8:00 pm on BET.

Nicki Minaj's debut album, 'Pink Friday', is set to be released on November 23.
