Weezer say double or nothing

Rock band Weezer have responded to the online petition offering them $10 million to split up, with a challenge of their own.

The rockers, who are due to re-release their hit album ‘Pinkerton’ next month, responded by asking the campaign to double its offer.

If they can make it $20 million, we’ll do the deluxe break-up!’ drummers Patrick Wilson said.

The petition, started by Seattle resident, James burns, has offered $10 million for the nerdy rockers to ‘disappear’.

Burns said he was ‘tired’ of his friends being disappointed year after year’ by the band.

He is calling for all the fans who bought the Weezer’s 1996 album ‘Pinkerton’ to donate $12 to help raise the $10 million. So far the campaign has raised just 1% of its target.
