Madonna stalker ordered to stay away

A man who was arrested outside the home of Madonna, has been ordered by the court to stay away from the star.

Police caught the 59-year-old suspect, Robert Linhart, loitering outside the pop icon's Manhattan apartment in New York City on September 21.

Officers found him in possession of a knife, while his car allegedly contained an ice pick.

Appearing in court yesterday (October 8), Linhart pleaded not guilty to resisting arrest and also charges of weapons possession. The judge released Robert on $20,000 bail on the condition that he has to remain at least 10 blocks away from Madonna's property.

His attorney defended Linhart by saying that he wasn't a threat to the superstar but merely a fan.
