Jimmy Fallon & The Roots remake LL Cool J’s ‘Going Back To Cali’

Fresh from opening the Grammys this week, LL Cool J is set to make a cameo on Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight Show, where Fallon & The Roots are 'Going Back To Cali'.

To celebrate the show's week-long return to the West Coast, the programme have remade LL Cool J’s 1988 classic hit from his third album, 'Walking with a Panther'.

The American rapper and actor can be seen wearing his signature late ’80s, Kangol hat, whilst Fallon rhymes in the video:

“I’m going back to Cali, hostin’, West Coastin’, laughin’, and takin’ the show on the road. I’m back in town on the L.A. scene and this week is going to get crazy.”

The video replicates LL’s original, which was also filmed in black-and-white.

Since 1972 The Tonight Show was mostly shot in Burbank, California, under its former hosts Johnny Carson and Jay Leno. The series, which started in the 1950s, has also been filmed in Chicago and New York, where Fallon lives.
