Jonsi cancels in-store tour

Sigur Ros frontman, Jonsi, has announced the cancellation of a string of free in-store gigs to support his current US tour.

A statement on his website read: “It is with regret that we announce the immediate cancellation of Jonsi’s series of acoustic performances.

“We, the management, are going to take the blame here … Jonsi himself, was always sceptical about how it would pan out in reality. And standing there nose-to-nose with fans in the cold light of day in Origami records, LA, he had the sudden and undeniable realisation that this is not the environment in which he flourishes.”

The statement went on to add, “It was arguably the most uncomfortable experience of his ten years in the public eye.”

Jonsi is currently touring his second solo album ‘Go’ and will play one date in the UK, at London’s HMV Hammersmith Apollo on 26 November.
