Iconic 'Thriller' hits the big screen

World renowned producer, director, and choreographer Kenny Ortega has announced plans to give the iconic Michael Jackson hit ‘Thriller’ a big screen makeover.

Ortega, who had a long association with the late singer, and recently directed the ‘This Is It’ DVD, will soon be in the midst of a bidding war with film studios in Hollywood, for the rights to produce the film.

The original video to ‘Thriller’, shot by John Landis was 14 minutes long, and featured Jackson with a band of zombies performing a now famous dance routine.

The film will be based around both video and song, seeing involvement from 'Thriller' songwriter Rod Temperton, with Jeremy Garelick from film ‘The Hangover’ on screenplay duties. Ortega will be behind the cameras, adding this project to a CV that includes work on the popular ‘High School Musical’ series.
