The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas has confirmed that the band have finished recording their long-awaited fourth record.

After the New Yorkan frontman was asked recently by a Twitter follower about the progress on the follow-up to 2006's 'First Impressions of Earth', he replied: "Still not going to be out for a few months-mixing, etc, but JUST finally finished it yesterday actually!? (sic)."

The singer-songwriter also recently admitted that the album had been "a labour" after the LP was rescheduled for a spring 2011 release.
