Iggy Azalea confirmed for Miami Beach Gay Pride Parade

Iggy  Azalea is set to support the LGBTQ community by performing this year at the Miami Beach Gay Pride Parade as Guest of Honour on April 10.

The news comes nearly a year after the star cancelled her peformance at the annual Pittsburgh Pride Parade.

The Grammy nominee Australian said: "I'm honored to join my friend Elvis Duran this year at Miami Beach Gay Pride.

"It's such an important day to celebrate with my LGBTQ fans, and I can't wait to see my Azaleans there!"

The rapper famously called off her plans to perform for the Pittsburgh Pride Parade last June, only days before she was set to appear at the event. Her decision came after coming under fire from the community for a series of old tweets some critics viewed as homophobic, including the city's first openly gay elected official, Pittsburgh City Council president Bruce Kraus.

She wrote on Twitter: "I am truly disappointed that I have to share this news, but I will no longer be performing at Pittsburgh Pride on June 13th.

"This has been a difficult decision as I truly support the event and LGBTIQA communities however i feel my participation at this point would only serve to further distract from the true purpose of the event."

Azalea dropped her new single 'Team' this month, which is the lead single from her forthcoming album, 'Digital Distortion.'

She said: "I think it's important for me, having taken so much time off, to really figure out what I wanted to say when I came back ... and I think Team is the right message."
