Troy Sivan and Ruby Rose win at the GLAAD Media Awards

Troye Sivan has bagged the Outstanding Music Artist award at the 27th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles yesterday (April 2).

The South African who came out publicly on YouTube and has helped others do the same.

Taylor Swift presented the Stephen F. Kolzak award to her galpal, Ruby Rose. The award is given annually to the media professional who has made a significant difference in promoting eqaulity and acceptance for the community. 

Previous winners of the Stephen F. Kolzak award include: Laverne Cox from Orange Is The New Black, Wanda Sykes, Chaz Bono, Melissa Etheridge, Ellen DeGeneres and Sir Ian McKellen.

Sivan took the opportunity to upload a photo of him with Swift and Rose (see above left).

Stephen F. Kolzak Award: Ruby Rose

Outstanding Reality Program: 'I Am Cait' and 'I Am Jazz'

Outstanding TV Movie or Limited Series: 'Bessie'

Outstanding Film– Wide Release: 'Carol'

Outstanding Comedy Series: 'Transparent'

Outstanding Documentary: 'Kumu Hina'

Outstanding Daily Drama: 'The Bold and The Beautiful'

Outstanding Music Artist: 'Troye Sivan, Blue Neighbourhood'

Outstanding Comic Book: 'Lumberjanes'
