Kesha: 'I'd rather let the truth ruin my career than lie for a monster'

Following on from losing her court trial against Sony and Dr Luke, Kesha has hinted that Sony may let her out of her contract on one condition.

She said: "I got offered my freedom IF I were to lie. I would have to APOLOGIZE publicly and say that I never got raped.

"I will not take back the TRUTH."

In her Instagram post (pictured above), Kesha added, "I would rather let the truth ruin my career than lie for a monster ever again."

Last month, a judge refused Kesha and her attorney's request to release her from the recording contract she is legally bound to as a result of the allegations made by Kesha against her former producer Dr. Luke.

Sony claimed it had no power to release her from their contract.

Fellow pop stars such as Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato and Lady Gaga spoke out on behalf of the singer, whilst Kelly Clarkson, who worked with Dr. Luke early in her career, stated publicly that though Luke never tried to drug or rape her, she was blackmailed to work with him.

Although Kesha's lawyers recently filed an appeal to the judge's ruling, Kesha's career remains in limbo, as she refuses to record for Dr. Luke's Sony imprint, to which she is contractually obligated.

The company has stated it has no intentions of releasing her. The 'Animal' singer is still under contract with Sony but is no longer required to work with Dr Luke.
