Janet Jackson delays tour again to start a family

Janet Jackson has announced that she will postpone all future Unbreakable tour dates to allow her to concentrate on starting a family.

The announcement comes a month after she cancelled concerts in the UK and Europe, and affects 55 further concerts in the US and Canada this summer.

Speaking in a Twitter video (see photo on left), the 49-year-old told her followers:

"My husband and I are planning our family - so I'm going to have to delay the tour.

"Please, if you can, try and understand that it's important that I do this now.

"I have to rest up (on) doctor's orders. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can."

She went on to thank her "supportive and loving" dancers and musicians, and to her fans for their "undying love" and "loyalty".

Jackson is currently married to Wissam Al Mana and she is yet to become a mother.

Her husband's company is a Quatar-based conglomerate with 55 companies. Its key fashion holdings include Harvey Nichols in London, Hermès, Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana and Zara. Other holdings include property such as 138 Park Lane in London.

Jackson postponed her entire UK tour last month (March) just three weeks before it was due to begin.
