Adam Lambert says he loves the diversity of his shows

When Adam Lambert took to the stage at his sold out 'The Original High' tour London show, he didn't just deliver a sonically perfect and entertaining set but he also spoke about what really matters to him.

Taking time out before launching into 'Whataya Want From Me?', he spoke directly and sincerely to his enraptured audience, and said:

"So every night when I do this show, I like to take a second to kind of preach to you guys, so bear with me, I've got a soapbox moment."

"One of the things I love about doing this as a career is that every time I do a show, no matter where I am in the world, I see so many different types of people in the audience. I'm in love with the diversity out there right now. I love it because, when you reallly think about it, the only thing that can bring people together like that is music. (comical american accent) 'Know what I'm sayin'?'

"... Anyway, back to my speech. One of the things I like about the diversity out there (to a heckling man) What? I'm not wearing a kilt? That's next time, I'll come back in a kilt just for you! Now my speech is boring, I'd rather just talk to you guys, it's more fun.

"Here's my point. Here's the thing about diversity and all you beautiful, special people out there from of all walks of life. Music brings us together and in today's society in the world we're living in, there are so many little boxes that we're supposed to check: you're this, I'm that, and all these little boxes they separate us, you guys.

"It's bullshit, as it doesn't really matter if you're a man or woman, you're black or white, if you're Latino or Asian. It doesn't matter if you're gay, straight, bi or trans, queer. It doesn't matter what religion you are either as at the end of the day we all have hearts in our chests, we're all human beings, right?

"And these hearts, they all want the same shit: love, acceptance and joy, and the first step to getting that thing, to getting your heart happy? You've gotta ask the right question. You know what question I like the most? (starts singing 'Whataya Want From Me')."
