Borders Partners With Lifebeat in the Fight Against HIV/AIDS on World Aids Day


Borders will donate a portion of customer's sale on December 1st to Lifebeat

NEW YORK, Nov. 29, 2010 -- On December 1, World AIDS Day, Borders will be giving customers a chance to give back. The retailer will be donating up to 25%* of a customer's total sale to Lifebeat, the music industry's HIV/AIDS prevention charity in America.

Borders customers are invited to attend various in-store signings and live performances at select locations nationwide on December 1st, purchase the celebrity author or artists' book/CD/DVD and have it signed. Borders will donate up to 25% of the total sale that day to Lifebeat. Hilary Duff, Ronnie Spector, Gary 'Baba Booey' Dell'Abate, Carol Channing, Hal Sparks, The Posies, Chely Wright, Shelby Lynne, The Superions, Lisa Rinna & Harry Hamlin are a few of the celebrities scheduled to make appearances.

Customers who shop on Borders.com and use the checkout code 'LIFEBEAT' on December 1st will have up to 25% of the total purchase donated.

Borders, Borders Express, or Waldenbooks customers anywhere in the U.S. can download the DECEMBER ONE voucher atwww.lifebeat.org/borders and redeem it at check out to have up to 25% of the total sale donated. The voucher is valid only onDecember 1st.
