Coldplay and Lianne La Havas sing beautiful rendition of 'Sometimes It Snows in April'

Coldplay gave the audience in Copenhagen, Denmark, an unexpected treat on Wednesday night (July 6) during the final leg of their European tour.

The British rock quartet were joined by Lianne La Havas to honour the late icon Prince, with a cover version of one of his famous tracks.

Lead singer Martin told the crowd: "This may be something you don't know, but this is our favorite Prince song," before introducing 'Sometimes It Snows in April'.

Martin and La Havas then proceeded to sing their beautiful version, with La Havas strumming away on her acoustic guitar throughout.

This isn't the first time Coldplay have honoured the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artist, who passed away on April 21. Earlier this year at a fundraising concert for Chords 2 Cure, a pediatric cancer research in Santa Monica, California, Chris Martin surprised a delighted crowd by joining a rock band of 8th graders to cover 'Raspberry Beret'.

Martin joked at the time: "Yesterday I said, ‘Let’s do this song. It’s a very famous Prince song.

"And they said, ‘We don’t know it. We’ve never heard of it. We’re like 14'."

The group also performed Coldplay's 'Twisted Logic', which was the first time the track had ever been played live.
