Destiny's Child set off reunion rumours with new Instagram account
Destiny's Child have caused a social media storm by launching a new Instagram account in their name.
The band split in 2006 and consisted of Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. Their biggest hits include 'Survivor' and 'Say My Name'.
The Instagram account was set up by Legacy Recordings, a Sony label known for re-issues. So, chances are, the account registration is just for the re-releases of former albums rather than new material. The band would be celebrating their 20th anniversary next year so it is possible that their back catalogue is due to be released in a special box-set collection to mark the occasion.
You can read previous Legacy Recordings press releases here.
This year the label has already released special editions for David Bowie, Maxwell, Jeff Buckley, Lou Reed and Miles Davis.
Destiny's Child did reform in 2013 for the Super Bowl halftime show and also in 2015 for the Stellar Gospel Music Awards. Therefore, there is a possibility, that they will mark their anniversary with a short reunion.
