Guitarist is shot during armed robbery at SXSW

A guitarist has been shot during an armed robbery after a recent show at SXSW held in Austin, Texas, last Friday (March 10).

Michael Sanders from the band Löwin, became the subject of the robbery when he was returning home from a A Giant Dog show that night.

The Austin Chronicle reports that he was attacked by three people near his home after hiding in the bushes. During the attack, Sanders was shot in the shoulder, with his wallet and mobile phone being stolen.

He has since been expected to make a full recovery, but will be unable to perform with Löwin during their three gigs at SXSW this week.

Last year a man was arrested at SXSW for firing gunshots into the air.
