Swedish House Mafia stars say DJs "party less" nowadays

Swedish House Mafia stars Axwell Hedfors and Sebastian Ingrosso think it's "cute" how DJs "party less" these days.

The EDM duo shot to fame when their Tinie Tempah collaboration, 'Miami to Ibiza' charted at number four in the UK Chart in September 2010. However, they say that things were a lot messier back in the day. So much so, that boozing often came before the music.

Axwell, 39, said: "The young people party a lot less than we used to, when we came on to the scene partying was the main thing and the music came second.

"It was pretty messy back then for us but now those coming through now, it's pretty cute how they party."

However, Axwell thinks it is important that stars today are more "serious" about their career as it is so much more competitive than it used to be.

He said: "It's more serious now, people look at it like a league sport because there's so much competition - you need to make 10 songs every week to compete."

The pair now perform under the name Axwell Λ Ingrosso following Swedish House Mafia's split after their 'One Last Tour' in March 2013, with former member Steve Angello, and are hoping the fact they like to "experiment" will give their new single, 'I Love You,' a running chance at topping the charts.

Ingrosso said: "We love to experiment and it's important as a lot more people can make music in their homes now."

The pair are looking at cutting back their shows in Ibiza and are keen to come back to the UK as much as possible.

On their plan to come back to the UK, he added: "We know how to hustle our way back in".
