Jon Bon Jovi postpones NYC show due to ill health

Jon Bon Jovi has postponed his shows in New York City this weekend because he's battling bronchitis.

The 55-year-old rocker announced last night (March 7) that he was postponing his forthcoming gigs at Madison Square Garden so that he can focus on recovering from the lung infection.

Although fans are no doubt disappointed that the show has been cancelled, they will still get the chance to see the band in action as tickets for tonight's show (March 7) will be transferrable to April 13, and tickets for tomorrow's show (March 8) will be honoured on April 15.

The rocker has been battling with the illness for more than a week and has been struggling to hit the high notes during his performances.

Earlier this week he was forced to end his concert in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, by almost an hour early because he felt like he was singing like "sh*t" and jokingly asked if anyone from a bar band knew all the words to Bon Jovi songs and could fill in for him.

He told the crowd: "I think I'm singing like sh*t tonight, and I apologise. But I'm gonna keep pushing on and if you stick it out with me, I'll stick it out with you."

Bon Jovi's band mate Phil X attempted to help him out with some of the vocals but the group decided to play their hit 'Livin' On A Prayer' as their final song before they raced off stage for an early finish.
