The famous record yielded the late icon's famous hits: ‘Let’s Go Crazy’, ‘When Doves Cry’, ‘I Would Die 4 U’, and of course the title track. Prince wrote all of the songs on the album, although some were with the input of fellow band members. To date 'Purple Rain' has sold over 22 million copies worldwide, making it the sixth-best-selling soundtrack album of all time. The new album is set to be reissued this year on June 23 on various formats, which will include double and triple CD, 180g vinyl and a live DVD. One of the CDs features 11 rare or previously unreleased tracks, which includes ‘Electric Intercourse'.
