Celine Dion: 'My change is that I was going to be strong for myself'

Celine Dion admits, having suffered personal setbacks such as the death of her husband, that she can't control her life.

Dion's husband, René Angéli, died from cancer at 73. He had been her manager since she was 12.

Speaking to the New York Times, she said:

'My change is that I was going to be strong for myself. And if I show strength, my kids will be strong, because you don’t choose always what you want. Life imposes things on you sometimes.”

Dion was speaking to the publication at the launch of her handbag and accessory line which will be sold at Nordstrom department stores in America, called The Celine Dion Collection.  The range starts at under $100.

She said: "Maybe they  [the fans] don’t necessarily like the album that’s going to come out, but maybe they can have a bag that they can hold on to. It’s tangible.”
