A woman George Michael secretly paid for to have IVF has given birth to a boy

A woman who appeared on Channel 4's Deal No Deal in 2008 in a bid to win money to pay for IVF has given birth to a baby boy.

The late George Michael watched that show and rang in to speak to the producers to offer her the money so that she could have IVF treatment. He made his donation anonymous and it was only revealed after his death.

Thanks to his generosity, Lynette Gillard, gave birth to a baby boy after trying to conceive for 13 years.

Her baby boy is called Seth Logan George Hart, as she remembered her generous benefactor when naming her child.

George Michael did on Christmas Day 2016, the same day Gillard found out she was pregnant. She told The Sun:

"He believed in me and gave me hope to keep trying even when I felt it was useless."

Although the IVF did not work, the money left over from her IVF treatment that Michael donated, helped pay for vital tests to find out why she could not concieve and Seth was born naturally as a result of finding out what was preventing her from becoming pregnant.

George Michael also donated money to Jo Maidment for IVF after she appeared on ITV's This Morning in 2010. She received a phone call two days after her appearance from the personal assistant of a 'businessman' who wanted to donate money. That businessman was George Michael (see below).

A Nile Rodgers-produced George Michael track, Fantasy, will be released on October 20.
