Camila Cabello on fake friends: 'You can't tell from the beginning'

Camila Cabello has opened up in a brand new interview (see below) about fashion, not having a lot of time to go out because she's either touring or working on her album, and learning how to spot 'fake friends'.

The 20-year-old star, who was announced as the face of the Guess Jeans Holiday 2017 campaign this week, has revealed that she often finds out that people that she thought would have had her back, didn't.

The "Havana" singer admits that it's not always easy to tell if someone is going to be supportive and loyal before letting them into your life.

In a new interview with Elle magazine, the Cuban-born American star addressed learning to navigate who is real and who is fake around her. She admitted:

"I think the only way to know is time. I feel like there are instances and circumstances in your life that always change.

"You can think someone’s your friend, and it could be out of convenience, or there was something in it for them, or whatever.

"And a year later, something happens and you really need help, or all of a sudden they have to stand up for you, and it could be inconvenient for them or not benefit them. And they don’t have your back.

"And you’re like, ok... you were only my friend when it was easy.

”What’s hard is you can’t tell from the beginning."

She said that "many" people have disappointed her but others have remained loyal, saying: "So many people have disappointed me. And there’s also been so many people - not so many, but a few people who make everything worth it, stick through it, and they show loyalty.

"And no matter what goes down, seas or rough or calm Sunday afternoon, those are people that are worth it. You die for those people.”
