Camila Cabello on verge of self-titled debut solo album release

Camila Cabello is about to release her long-awaited and highly anticipated self-titled debut solo album next week on January 12 and it couldn't be a more exciting time for Camilizers worldwide.

The Cuban-American superstar, who has been touring and writing music nonstop since the young age of 15, revealed last year that after originally thinking it would be full of "sad songs", she has now found it to be more upbeat than she expected and discovered a "good balance".

Speaking about the record, which was originally titled "The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving." and her first solo album since her departure from the girl group Fifth Harmony, the 20-year-old said:

"At first I thought it was gonna be, like, a sad-song album. Then the more I got into the year, it just was better. I felt way happier. I feel that it has a good balance of the emo and the happy."

She told Rolling Stone magazine: "A lot of my fans were, or are, fans of the group. I don't like to ruin the dream. They believed in something that's beautiful. I'm sure with One Direction, too, nobody really saw behind the scenes. You just see the dream."

This year will once more be filled with promos and touring and like her Camilizers, Cabello is just as excited, although she does want to make sure that she doesn't miss out on real life along the way.

"The way that I have worked makes it hard on relationships, on friendships, even health.

"I do like to forget that I'm a singer or somebody that's famous.

"I just want to be a kid sometimes," she said.
