Camila Cabello Becomes First Female Since Beyoncé To Hit No. 1 On Billboard 200 And Hot 100

Camila Cabello becomes the first female since Beyoncé's debut solo album "Crazy in Love" in 2003, to sit simultaneously at the top of both the Billboard 200 and the Billboard Hot 100.

The star admits that she "cried on the street" when she found out that her debut solo album had gone to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart.

Camila took to Twitter to share her excitement, tweeting:

"MY ALBUM IS NUMBER 1 ON BILLBOARD HOT 200!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IM CRYING ON THE STREET (sic)"

Talking about the record, she said: "For me, my music and my life are in this parallel line. You know, that is why I changed the album title, because I was like, I'm not in that place anymore. We have to live in the same... you know, we have to live at the same time.

"I feel like whenever I'm done with an album, I feel like this is the end of a chapter. The next part is about collecting memories and experiences for the next thing - it's nice.

"The album takes a turn where it becomes really introspective and heavy and confessional. So the tracklist was something I spent forever working on. I just tried every single possibility. I played it for my friends in the car in a bunch of different orders, because I didn't like ending it with a [sighs], you know."

The Cuban-born singer-songwriter released her debut solo self-titled album earlier this month on January 12. It has already broken iTunes records by shooting to No. 1 on 99 charts, making her the first artist in history to have achieved such a record on iTunes. It went straight in at No. 2 in the UK albums chart and No. 1 on Billboard.

Along with the above, and the feat of sitting at the summit of both the Billboard 200 and the Billboard Hot 100 this year, Camila's overall global chart success is spiralling her into superstardom.

"Camila" was released on January 12 through SYCO/Epic Records.
