Zayn feels 'like an older brother watching over' Niall Horan

Zayn has been busy promoting his newly released single, 'Let Me,' since its release yesterday (April 12).

One radio show, 97.1 AMP, asked him if there was any playful competitiveness between him and his former One Direction bandmates.

The 25-year-old replied: "You know what? I actually just spoke to Niall a couple of days ago. The truth of it is, it's not even like that to be honest, I wish it was a bit more like that!

"We just really support each other and I even spoke to him the other day, I was saying to him I'm really proud of his music and how well he is doing. It's almost like an older brother watching over him and it's cool to have that conversation with him.

"We just really support each other, there's no real competition, I don't think, between us."

Twenty-four-year-old Horan's first solo album, 'Flicker,' has reached the Top 20 in several countries, including No. 1 in the U.S. and Ireland.

Zayn's solo album, 'Mind of Mine,' went in at No. 1 in both the UK and U.S. charts.

The Bradford-born stars newly released single, 'Let Me,' is taken from his upcoming second studio album.
