Louis Tomlinson's Meeting with Manchester Bomb Survivor Gets Televised

Louis Tomlinson's surprise appearance at the NHS Heroes Awards was televised last night (May 21) on ITV.

The event took place last week on May 14

Freya Lewis was just 14 years old when the bomb exploded at the Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena. She lost her best friend, Nell Jones, to the bomb and was injured herself. Lewis spent the next three months wheelchair-bound.

Since then she has raised almost £40,000 for the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital where most of the victims were treated.

Tomlinson walked onto the stage holding her award, greeted her with open arms and she cried as they hugged at the event.

Tomlinson told her: "The VT was really moving, but what I think is clearly remarkable is your strength.

"To go through such tragedy and to raise that amount of money and have that level of endeavour is amazing. It really touched me with that story, so yeah... I just want to give you another hug!"

Tito Jackson, one of the original Jackson 5 members, also noted meeting Tomlinson at the NHS Heroes Awards, as a personal highlight for the event. Jackson uploaded a total of three photos of the occasion on his Twitter.
