Trevor Horn awarded CBE

Producer, Trevor Horn, has been awarded a CBE in the New Year Honours 2011 list.

Horn entered the music business as a 19-year-old session player, working in the early days with disco starlet Tina Charles. His first major break into the music business was as half of The Buggles. The duo's hit 'Video Killed the Radio Star' reached number one in 16 countries, and was the first pop video to be aired by MTV.

Horn then went on to produce ABC, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, the Pet Shop Boys, Robbie Williams, Seal and Grace Jones. He formed ZTT Records with his wife and Paul Morley in 1983.

Horn's  business partner and wife, Jill Sinclair, was accidentally shot in the neck by their son five years ago, and has been in a coma ever since.
