The 70th Emmy Awards nominees have been announced today (July 12) by Handmaid's Tale actress Samira Wiley and New Amsterdam actor Ryan Eggold.

Some of this year's top nominees include Atlanta, Game of Thrones, Glow, The Crown and Westworld, with Netflix taking a lead in total nominations.

Benedict Cumberbatch has been nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Limited Series or Movie for his role in Patrick Melrose. Others also nominated in that category include Antonio Bandera, Jeff Daniels, Darren Criss, John Legend and Jesse Plemons.

Previous four-time nominee James Corden has been nominated for Outstanding Actor in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series for his Snapchat bit James Corden's Next James Corden.

The nominees in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie are Sarah Paulson, Michelle Dockery, Edie Falco, Regina King, Jessica Biel and Laura Dern.

The nominees for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series are Sandra Oh, Tatiana Maslany, Claire Foy, Evan Rachel Wood, Elisabeth Moss and Keri Russell. 

The 70th Emmy Awards ceremony is set to air on NBC on September 17 from Los Angeles' Microsoft Theater with hosts Michael Che and Colin Jost of Saturday Night Live.
