Niall Horan ponders One Direction's future

Niall Horan spent the anniversary day of the birth of One Direction reflecting on his time in the band.

Speaking to Billboard's Pop Shop Podcast which was recorded on Monday 23 July, he said the the band's success: "Came about real quick and before we knew it, [we had] a No. 1 album in America and we're selling out arenas and we were globally successful. And we had a great time while we were doing that."

When asked if the band's anniversary has made him reflect on their successful past and their potential future, he said:

“This is kind of like a little chapter in the middle where we're doing our own thing. Again, all being successful at it, I'd like to think, and selling out tours and being out on the road and making tunes that we all want to make.

"Yeah, it's kind of a bit of both, and we're gonna see what happens in the future."

"It’s hard to believe it's been eight years.

"Today I was in Urban Outfitters and a girl said, 'I've been a fan since I was 12,' and she was like 20. And I was like 'Oh God.' [Laughs] It even makes me feel old, and I'm only 24!

"It's a bit of a shock to the system when you hear stuff like that. But yeah, it's been amazing to be part of people's lives.

"A lot of people you read online [say] 'One Direction was basically a part of my teenage years,' and I wouldn't have it any other way. I think that's quite a cool thing to be able to have in your résumé.”
