Louis Tomlinson has implied that one of his former One Direction bandmates is set to be a guest judge during the judges' houses round of The X Factor this year.

Speaking about the subject recently, he revealed that a couple of them texted when they heard of his new appointment on the panel.

Tomlinson admitted: ‘They might fight for that guest judge seat at the judges’ houses stage of the competition.’ 

The popular British star is still busy recording his debut solo album, whilst being a judge on the UK version of the televised music competition which finds new singing talent. 

The 26-year-old also revealed why he pursued a solo career as "There was an element of feeling there was something to prove. And a responsibility to the fans."

Whilst his fans wait patiently for his debut solo album release, the Doncaster lad has been very busy this year.

He has signed new management, won a Teen Choice Award, taken part in tons of charity work, and amassed some staggering sales statistics already with his solo catalogue, despite not even releasing a solo album.
