Camila Cabello's 'Havana' edges closer to 1 billion Spotify streams

Camila Cabello's Havana featuring Young Thug is edging closer to a staggering 1 billion streams on Spotify.

At the time of writing, the global smash hit has already amassed 999,473,902 streams.

Its growth has been steady to-date, with 90 million Spotify streams by last September, and 888 million Spotify streams by this June.

When the track hits 1 billion streams, it will join a very exclusive club of only 12 songs in the entire world to have reached beyond that figure.

As of August 2018, only 12 songs have surpassed 1 billion Spotify streams. They include:

Ed Sheeran's Shape of You
Drake's One Dance
The Chainsmokers' Closer ft. Halsey
Justin Bieber's Love Yourself

2018 has been an incredible year for the single and for Cabello, kicking off with the young singer performing it live on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest in New York City.

The Cuban-influenced track has also won countless awards, including Video of the Year at the MTV VMAs.

The track also returned into the US iTunes Top 20 a year after its initial release on 30 August 2018. Over a million copies of the single have now been sold.

Havana is already Spotify's most streamed track by a female artist, overtaking Adele's Hello.

Plus, to round it all off, Cabello's self-titled debut solo album has spent more than 8 months in the Billboard 200 chart, which is truly an accolade few can claim.
