Pop icon Kylie Minogue confirmed for 2019 Glastonbury Festival

Kylie Minogue has been confirmed for Glastonbury Festival in the UK when it returns in 2019.

This performance will be poignant, as the pop icon was scheduled to perform 14 years ago, but had to cancel due to being diagnosed with breast cancer.

Taking to Instagram (see below), she wrote:

"I'm so thrilled to announce that I'll be playing the 'Legend slot' on Sunday 30th June at @glastofest 2019. It will be 14 years since I was originally meant to appear there and so much has happened up to now.

"I can't wait to see you all there to share the special show."

This year saw the release of the singer's 14th album, Golden, which has a strong country vibe - perfect for the fields of Worthy Farm.

In 2010 she did set foot onstage at Glastonbury when she appeared as a guest star during Scissor Sisters' set.

The legendary Sunday afternoon set has previously been played by Dolly Parton, Neil Diamond, Lionel Ritchie and Barry Gibb.
