"On Thursday, October 18th, the Queen Pop-up shop opened its doors. Arriving from all over the world, Queen fans old and new flocked to the gorgeous location in the heart of London’s Carnaby Street.

Known for its rich musical heritage, the streets of Carnaby were lit with neon lights depicting Bohemian Rhapsody’s lyrics and hosted a worthy grand opening, with Brian May and Roger Taylor and the cast of Bohemian Rhapsody, our honoured and beloved guests.

Dedicated to everything Queen, the shop offered fans the ability to interact with Queen in a way that few had before. Every day was a unique experience with talented fans taking a seat at our piano, serenading shoppers as they picked up t-shirts, mugs, books, and vinyl all dedicated to the legendary band; the most daring fans, sitting down with acclaimed tattoo artist Manuela Gray to always remember them by.

Special Guests included Bulsara and the Queenies, the London Saxophone Choir, and Sings choir to name a few. Some of our favourite moments included the sudden and passionate sing-alongs fans would share as a fellow stranger performed everyone’s favourite hits. We saw our fair share of Freddie impersonators, dressed from head to toe in iconic Freddie drag! On November 24th, the anniversary of Freddie’s death, we had fans come in to pay their respects. Even through the tears and a sombre occasion, there was still room to sing and laugh and remember what Queen meant to a generation, and still does.

Over the Christmas season, fans are given the option to write a special message to Freddie and leave it on our Christmas tree. White tags filled with hopes and prayers and well wishes spanning generations will be added to the Queen archives once the shop closes on January 6th; proof that the spirit of Queen will live on in the hearts of many, for a long time to come.
