Descendants 3 is expected to premiere this summer on the Disney Channel, and the cast are getting excited.

Sofia Carson who plays Evie, the Evil Queen's daughter, tweeted this morning (January 17): "my heart is so full. I can’t wait to share our movie with you. #descendants3

"i just saw things that you guys haven’t seen yet and i am not okay #descendants3 @KennyOrtegaBlog [sic]."

Dove Cameron, who plays Mal, Maleficent's purple-haired daughter, has revealed that the third movie ties up loose ends left from the sequel.

The Dumplin' star also said: "It’s weird to say this, because the movies have such a big fan base. But these movies, we really make for ourselves.

"Like, me, and Sofia, and Kenny (Ortega, director). Like those people together, we’re in this weird little conspiratorial love affair."

Filming of the U.S. musical TV movie wrapped up on July 18. The film is bound to be a huge success as Descendants 2 garnered 21 million viewers in the US, and over 1.3 million in the UK.

Globally, Descendants 2 has been viewed over 71.5 million times across 159 countries. Its soundtrack landed in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200.

Carson is also gearing up for the premiere of TV teen drama series, Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists. The actress worked on the show last year alongside her singing career. The vertical video for 'Different World' by Alan Walker featuring Carson, K-391 and CORSAK, gained more than 1.5 million YouTube views in just three days last month.

Meanwhile, Cameron has been playing the Alicia Silverstone role in Clueless the Musical on Broadway.
